Professional Counseling — The BJHSG director is a licensed clinical professional counselor in private practice and who supervises graduate level counseling, pastoral care, and human services students. BJHSG is also a partner of the Maryland Pro Bono Counseling Project.
Life/Career Coaches — We have assembled a list of experience career counselors, life coaches, and resume writers who volunteer their services to group members. In addition, we can provide you with reasonably priced professionals.
In Person and Online — We'll help get you connected via LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Meetup. You don't have to go to another job fair, LinkedIn Local, Freelancers Union, Coaches Corner, Career Confidence, or BENG/FENG/MENG event alone. Just knowing that there is someone else you know in the room is helpful. We'll practice what to do/bring/say at these events.
Help with the basics — We know that times can get hard when the rug gets pulled out from underneath you. The BJHSG Green Guide (under construction) will provide information on getting unemployment insurance, healthcare without insurance, EBT (food stamps), energy assistance, housing, social security, money management, dealing with creditors, bankruptcy, avoiding foreclosure, and more.
We work to move employers away from the perception of older workers as the "Silver Tsunami" or "Baby Boomers" or even "Perennial Workers." Our 40+ workers are experienced, and without them our workforce is a weak one, with lowered continuity and expertise.
