BJHSG was co-founded by Pastor Carol Cook and Nancy Jeannechild as a ministry of First Christian Church in Baltimore’s Roland Park neighborhood. The first meeting was held in November 2011. Since then, BJHSG continues to meet each Tuesday at 1 PM. In 2015, Ms. Jeannechild found a position and Janet Glover-Kerkvliet volunteered to co-facilitate the group, along with Rev. Cook. In January 2017, First Christian Church became the Corner Community Center, a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization. When Rev. Cook retired from active ministry in 2017, Ms. Glover-Kerkvliet took on the role of Director of BJHSG.
