Yes! Check our website for updates on our upcoming LinkedIn Boot Camp, How to get a Job with the Federal Government, Our “Big Work” Fundraiser, Our Holiday White Elephant Exchange and Pizza Party, Vision Board Workshop, and the BJHSG Entrepreneurs Flea Market.
We often have guest speakers and do our best to schedule them with at least 2 weeks notice so that members can plan to attend.
Absolutely, everyone is welcome. We are working on forming the Baltimore Millennial Navigators Group, an online weekly meeting for job seekers ages 20s-40s. Find the BMN group on www.meetup.com. Information is forthcoming.
IS THERE RELIGIOUS CONTENT TO THE MEETINGS?
No. The meetings end with a non-religious meditation or a few minutes of silence.
WHAT ARE YOUR OUTREACH AND ADVOCACY EFFORTS? ARE YOU A LOBBYING GROUP?
See Outreach and Advocacy on the “Our Services” page. We are not a lobbying group. We are interested in educating all community stakeholders about the long term unemployment issue.
HOW CAN I FIND OUT WHAT THE TOPIC WILL BE FOR UPCOMING MEETINGS?
We list our weekly topic on Meetup, Facebook, Twitter, Eventbrite, and on our website on the “Weekly Dispatches” page.
IS THERE AN EVENING GROUP?
We are working on having an evening group for workers who are working part time during the day. Stay tune for updates
DO YOU MEET YEAR-ROUND?
Yes. We are closed for Election Day (because CCC is a polling site) and during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. We follow the Baltimore City Public School System for inclement weather closings (i.e., if city schools are closed, we are closed).
DO YOU NEED VOLUNTEERS? CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE INTERNS?
Absolutely! We have a variety of volunteer positions! Please check out our volunteer opportunities at VolunteerMatch.org.
We can accommodate counseling, human services, and pastoral counseling students who need internship or practicum hours.
ARE YOUR SERVICES REALLY FREE?
